Well our life has been so crazy with hunting season. Bob and I took a week off the middle of November to hunt the dogs and call coyotes. We have made a trip to Iowa to meet new friends. Got a new pup her name is Bella ( Airedale) I really like her, she has a very funny personality. We also got to do some hunting with a guy that bought a pup from us. I have been hunting terriers for 7 years now and have never got a coyote with them until last weekend. MAN, was i scared for the dogs. I did not even wait for Bob to get the camera. I dispatched the coyote very fast. We will have to work now until x-mas break and then more time off !!! The kids are great, Ashley is playing B-ball and made varsity!! Brett and Dustin are hunting with us and cant Wait for x-mas break. My mom is coming for x-mas (I guess no Chinese food) and Dustins has a birthday the 27th. Again sorry for it taking so long for an update. Shell

2nd Annual Coyote Calling Contest
Bob and I started our week vacation on Saturday. We entered a coyote calling contest in Clay Center. Friday night was check in to get the rules and have dinner with some friends. Thank goodness our friends asked us to dinner before the check in. They told us last year they had Beaver Chili, yes you read right!! Bob and I decided to pass ( did not want an upset belly on Saturday). There were 20 teams of 2 and it was cold. They did not tell us that the meeting was held outside, thank goodness I carry a blanket for just kind of occasion. Saturday morning Bob was awake early and did not sleep well all night, he gets like that when he has something on his mind. We headed out the door around 6:20 and drove around waiting for the sun to rise. The first place we went to Bob shot a coyote just right in front of me (I did pee a little). I was to busy looking in my binoculars to even see the coyote right in front of me. The wind was really blowing. The second place we hit, yes we called in another coyote. We had a lag time for about 2 hours and yes Bob again shot another coyote. Then another at a different location. We saved our honey hole for the last place right before dark. We called for only about 5 min in an old rock query. I was scanning the rock ledge and i saw some thing that caught my eye, yes a coyote all to my self. Bob was in the bottom to my right and I knew this would make us or break us. I first must say that I'm not a very good shot. I get very excited and start to shake and well, i do miss alot. When I figured out it was a coyote I took in a big breath and pretended that the coyote was a water bottle (I can hit those). I did not have a good shot because of some trees. I made a kissing sound to get him to move and it worked!! I shot, and hit him and made him do donuts. I ran as fast as I could up the rocks to do him in. Well he ran and we never could find him. I was getting dark and we had to be back in Clay Center to check back in. To make a long story short, my husband is a awesome shot and for some reason that is a big turn on for me!!! We walked away with second place. We ended up with 4 coyotes one being only 11.2 lbs and won the contest for the smallest coyote. Once again we had a wonderful time together and we have all week to spend doing what we both love to do HUNT !!!!!!

Hooked on Reading!!!
Well a few weeks back I went to the book store and got a couple of new books. The young lady asked if she could help me ( man if she only knew) I said yes, I would like a book that will keep my attention. Boy, be careful what you ask for some times. I have my nose in my new book The Twilight every free minute I have. When she first told me that is was about Vampire's and Werewolf's, well that is one thing that I'm very scared of. As a child that's what my nightmares were about. I laughed and said there was no way I could read these. First of all I live in the country where it is VERY dark and it is bad enough that I'm afraid of the dark ( yes, hard to believe). Oh, she said that are not bad V's the are good. Stupid me I bought the book and had it read in 4 day's all 528 pages. She was right, there are good V's and BAD V's. I have never in my life read that many pages of any thing!!! I had to make a special trip to the book store to buy the next book The New Moon. Had it read in just a few day's also and made another trip Friday night to get the other 2 books, Eclipse and Braking Dawn. Man, what good book's!!! Now Dustin is reading Twilight, and really likes it. He has a hard time reading it at night, he to is a scardy cat like his mom. Well better go I have books to read! Shell

4-Wheeling by Fort Riley
Today we went 4-wheeling near Ft Riley. It was on the east side of the high way by the big cannon. We ate breakfast a the M-Donald's place (not my pick) and Ashley is yelling the weenie mobile, the weenie mobile!! Sure enough their it was. We had to stop and take a picture. If you noticed Bob was not in the picture. I cant not repeat what he wanted to call the blog but if you use you imagination I'm sure it would not be hard. We really had a nice time riding the 4-wheelers. We went to a new spot, with the friend we usually go with. We had to make our own trails and ran over lots of little trees and lots of weeds. Ashley had not been able to go with us 4-wheeling before because of work or friends. On our way home we stopped and ate and the ride home was so quite, they were all asleep in the back seat. We must have wore them out. We should take them more to new place's (poor kids). Yes, that is Ashley on 2 wheels trying to run over a tree.

Master of Destruction
Dustin wants to build a go-cart!! He went to do some work for one of my clients and she gave him the motor he was needing to start his new project. As a younger boy he would take things a part (never getting them back together, the way they should). He has always liked to tinker. When Dustin got home on Saturday he could hardly wait to get started. Well Sunday rolled around and from the time he woke up until it got dark, he was out side working on getting parts from my old lawn mower. He really worked hard!! Now he wants Bob to get a frame from the junk yard and his project will be complete (we hope). Shell

My Flower Garden
Well summer is close to an end and I hate to see my hard work die. I got this bright idea to grow my own flowers starting with seed's. I went to Home Depot and bought a shelf and some florescent light to help them grow better. Man this was a lot of work. I had to keep them moist but not to moist. The first batch I killed ( I though I really had a green thumb). Being the person I am and don't do well with defeat, I started a new round (when it got a little warmer). They did OK, not what I had expected. I found a green house on sale, and yes I bought it!!! Cant waite until next spring to experiment with it. I want to use the seed's from my flowers outside to make more flower's (Bob I know what you are thinking). I also had this weird vine growing in my flower bed, I could not waite to see what it was going to produce. Gourds, the kind you can make bird houses out of!!! So, I have been reading up on how to dry them and make bird houses out of them. So if any one is interested ( I have lot's growing) I would be happy to pass some your way. There is nothing like getting dirt under your finger nails and the smell of dirt. Shell

Kids and birthdays
Well it has been crazy around here. With school starting and birthdays all in the same week and a crazy work schedule have left not much time to post. Brett's birthday was on Friday (13 yrs old) and Ashley's was on Tuesday (the big 16). Brett decided to have just a dad and son b-day and to spend it deer hunting (Sept 13 youth season). I hope that they have the opportunity to shoot a nice buck. Ashley has decided to have friends over this weekend and to go to the mall on Saturday and chase guys and shop!! I can not believe that she is 16. It just seems like yesterday that I was dropping her off to kindergarten and crying that my little baby girl was starting school. They are both such good kids and I am so blessed to have both of them!!

Fishing with PooPaw and Robert!!
Well the last two Sundays Robert and I have gone fishing on the boat at Council Grove. What a great time!!! The Sunday before last PooPaw and I caught the biggest fish and Robert caught the littlest (only 6-7 INCHES long). Last night PooPaw was the big winner. I caught only the wind and a very nice sunset. Robert did catch one (this time a little bigger). I really does not matter to me if I catch something or not, I really enjoy fishing and especially with my two of my favorite guys!! Thanks again for a wonderful night. Shell

4 year Anniversary
Well, the 12th was our 4 year anniversary. What an exciting 4 year I have had!!! I thought I would never find someone as special as my husband. He is my best friend and I look forward to growing old with him. He makes me laugh and has taught me that I don't always have to be right. Being an only child I do tend to be right most of the time. He has a wonderful family that has taken in myself and my children as there own. I cant imagine life with out him!! He does make me smile. And they said, I would never make the cold weather, HA showed them. Shell

Busted in Bazarr Kansas
Shelly, Brett and I took a motorcycle ride to Cassoday Ks this morning. It was a beautiful morning for a ride. As we crossed the flint hills we came upon a motorcycle check lane, no big deal right? Wrong!!!!!My wife has been breaking the law for close to 4 yrs, no licence. The sheriff's deputy flags her to the side with all the other vagrant criminals. Two woman deputies came over and removed Shelly from her bike, laid her face down in the ditch and hand cuffed her. Shelly explained to them that she has ridden to Sturgis, Yellowstone national park and several trips to Texas. It made no difference to them, the one gal that looked like a man told her to be quite and put her knee on the back of her neck. This really pissed Shelly off and they started to wrestle around on the shoulder of the road. One of them pulled out a can of pepper spray and pointed it at her. At that point I'd have enough, they told me to back off or I would be going to jail with her. I stopped not knowing what else to do, 2 bikes and a 12 yr old boy and 60 miles away from home. I asked one of the sheriff's if there was any thing we could do to change things he paused for a minute and said maybe we can work some thing out. He went and talked to the woman deputies and after a while he came back with a list. I was not comfortable leaving Shelly there but I had no choice, Brett and i headed up to the road to the quick trip, picked up a carton of lucky strikes and a pair of sun glasses went back to the scene of the crime and made the exchange. I got my wife back and those crazy lesbians went home to roll play. All she ended up with was a ticket. Shelly told me that was stupid she could have taken them if she didn't have cuff's on. I was just embarrassed and wanted to go home.

Went back for more!!
We decided to load back up again to take another trip to Randolph. A couple of my clients were
going also. Once again it was a blast. We had to buy a trailer because we did not have enough room for all the 4-wheelers. Bob assured me that we would use it for other purposes. We road for 9 hours, and were quite tired when we left. Dusitn gave the two other guy riding with us a heart attack. He went off of a ledge and into the creek and his 4-wheeler it landed on top of him. Of course I missed all the action I was off visiting nature, but I could hear him yelling and just thought he was having a wonderful time. The guys got down to where he was and got the 4-wheeler off of him and he was just fine. I felt so sorry for him. He was covered in mud from head to toe. See picture below. Oh, there were some very intoxicated young GI that had just bought a new Jeep liberty (still had paper plates) and had it stuck. So we pulled them out with one of the 4wheelers and the razor. We laughed so hard, just to watch them. The guy kept saying "they told me it was trail approved" I am sure they meant when your not drunk and in your right mind and on a reasonable trail.

4-Wheeling at Randolph Kansas
One of my clients at work told me about a place to go off roading. Bob and I and Dustin decided to load the 4 wheelers up and go check it out. I had a blast!! Lots of rocks, mud and hills. There were guys out there in their Jeeps and dirt bikes. We only stayed a few hours. Here are some fun pictures. Oh ya I made a new friend, tried to catch him but he was way to fast.
