Ryan and his buddies

Sunday morning Bob, Brett and I got to bird hunt with Grandpa, Uncle Ryan, Uncle Travis, Travis's dad and Matt. I just followed along to take some pictures of this event. I love to watch the dogs work. Ryan's two labs are so well behaved and you could tell they loved hunting birds. The first place we went there was a covey of Quail and Ryan did get a shot at them. Only bumped up on pheasant but he took off "wild" bird language. The next place we went to the grass was as tall as me ( does not say much). Poor Travis was trying to teach his new pup Tanner all about the bird hunting thing. He just wanted to run a long with the other dogs and he did get a chance to do that later that morning. Bob and I left shortly after that to get our dogs out to do some hunting of their own. Thanks for letting me tag along boy's!

Bob and I had the hole week of this week. It was great, we went to KC on Monday and Cabelas. Bought a new decoy for coyote calling. Tuesday and Wednesday we took the puppies rat hunting and did some coyote calling. Thursday took care of Dustin, he has the flu. and today took the pup's to the creek and coyote called. I was nice just to hang out and do nothing much. Next week back to work and then more time off! I love this time of the year. Bring on HUNTING season!!

Bob and I took a little walk to a place I call Rat Haven. I love to take the puppies there to hunt for mice and rats. I was a little muddy but the pups had a good time. We hit the jack pot today in an old dish washer. Raven got in the dish washer first and then Mute jumped in. I'm sooooo ready for hunting season to start! Bring on the FUR :)

Things I have been working on

Stocking caps,blankies and scarfs
My Afhgan now

My Afghan being born

Well I have been passing the time at night crocheting. I must say I really do enjoy it. I have a client that makes baby afghans and sends them to the children hospitals. I made 3 of them and I hope they keep little babies warm this winter. My afghan I started on a few months back has grown very large. It's 9 feet long and 5 foot wide. I have made the kids stocking caps (Brett's the only one that wears his). But the best of all my nephew wears his stocking cap all the time. That makes me smile and warms my heart! I'm working on some x-mas stuff (man it's time for that already) I would really like to learn how to make granny squares. I bought a set of looms and they are fun also. There are so many things you can make with the looms. I'm going to take a class on knitting. Will see if I like that as much as I like crocheting. Thanks Roberta for teaching an old dog a new trick!

We ate all the cake so no picture this one will have to do

oh, this is sweet (should have used this we everyone was here)

Garrett, Mom and Matt

Today my mother-in law (mom) and Bob Sr. (dad) and Jeniffer,Garrett and Matt came to wish me a happy birthday. Mom made me a wonderful cake and birthday money! I got to spend some time Saturday with Garrett and Jeniffer at the Pumpkin Patch. I almost bought a purse but I could hear Bob in the back ground tell me that the basement was full of them and I really don't need another one. That's his opinion! Like my granny used to say you can never have to many panties or purses! Man I miss that lady:) Garrett and I ate popcorn and got to see a few friends from H-town that had a booth there. Garrett makes me laugh. What a special kid. Every time I see him I cant believe the changes he has made. When he came to my house today, he and I and mom were in the kitchen looking at yarn. I asked if he would like a stocking cap? Sure he said. I let him pick out the one he liked. It was made of wool and bright colors. He wore it the hole time he was here. Bob took everyone on a ride on the Razor except grandma & grandpa. We had cake and ice cream and Garrett make sure they sang me the birthday song (thanks Garrett, I needed that). My mom sent me a Kitchen Aid mixer (red) for my birthday. Now I can quit trying to win them on the Pioneer Woman. Bob and I made pancakes with it this morning. My birthday is not until Tuesday, but I must say today felt just like my birthday. Thanks ya'll for making me a part of your family!!! Oh, I almost forgot. I did get a camera from myself and Bob. :))))))

Jalapeno stuff

Well I must say I'm addicted to the Pioneer Woman. She is such a neat lady. I have started making food off her web page. When no one can give me ideas for dinner, I go to her for help. Today I made Bacon-Wrapped Jalapenos and Sesame Noodles. They were delicious. Bob really does not like hot stuff, but he ate more of the jalapenos then the rest of us. I'm sure he will pay for it tomorrow! lol The kids and Bob wanted cookies too. So I made M&M cookies to today. Bob and I spent a little time outside with the puppies. They are so funny. I think we have lost our mind keeping four of them but I think you guys already knew that. You only live once is my motto. The boys were board to death today. They spent the hole day in their rooms watching stupid T.V. Poor kids! Well I hope everyone has a good weekend.

Flint Hills

Indian Monument
Flint Hills

Flint Hills

Natural Spring

Flint Hills

Bob and I and some friends took a 4-wheeler ride out to the Flint Hills. I really was not in the mood to go riding but once I found out we were going to the Springs, I was in!! The springs have water that bubbles up all year round. The water at the Springs is very cold and shallow. You can look for miles and miles and just see rolling hills, cattle and grass. No telephone lines no houses no cars no nothing. I can picture in my head the Indians and the Buffalo out there and how it must have been years ago. It takes my breath away the beauty of it all. They call it "God's country" and I can see why. One of my other favorite places to go in the Flint Hills is Diamond Springs. I would love to live down there (not Bob). I took a picture of a Indian Monument. Not for sure the story on it but it looks neat. I have gone down to Diamond when I have had something on my mind and need to clear my head. This place is so peaceful. I hope that my grand children get to see all the wonderful thing I have got to see in such a natural state. Thanks Bob for another memorable day, I love spending time with you!!!!
