This time of the year goes by way faster than I would like! Had a good Thanksgiving and a good Christmas. I'm so blessed to have a wonderful family. We had a great Christmas at mom and dad (muhlig) and I always leave with a big smile and my belly hurting from laughing. My mom and step dad came from Houston a couple of days after Christmas. We did a lot of shopping and eating. I really miss seeing her. She is a wonderful mom. Bob and I always take 2 weeks off during this time of the year and just spend time together and hunting. We have not done to much coyote calling because of the weather and his eye. I wish i was as good of a shot as Bob is but I'm not (someday). We have got the terriers out every chance we get. The new crew has done a great job finding coons. I could only wish that hunting season was year round and I was retired!! The kids made out like bandits at x-mas. Ashley is cooking at the local restaurant and part time at the vet clinic. Dustin is doing wonderful in school and just keeps making me smile. Brett is playing basketball ( his team is not very good :( but he sure tries. All three of the kids are such great kids and are growing up so fast. I love all of them with all my heart and soul. Hope to do more traveling on our bikes this summer. Oh did I forget to say, " I'm ready for the sun to shine" It's almost green house time!!!

Thanks for teaching me how to be a Murry

Cap Rock near Lubbock Tx
My Aunt Fay and Uncle John (my Favorite)

Aunt P, Uncle Cotton, my dad, Uncle D.

Me and my brother Travis

Jean Gosnell was one hell of a grandma! I loved going to her house when I was a little girl. I can tell you stories about her until I'm blue in the face. Just a few things that really stick out in my mind are going to the bowling alley with her. She was in the 300 club and proud of it. She was a lady you did not mess with. She carried a pistol in her glove box until the day she could no longer drive. She used to get a motel room in the summer called the Stardust in Lubbock and invite all of us over to swim. She loved to swim and would brag about how good she could float. This lady could water ski up until her 50's. She loved to sing, she always would put on a show at family reunions and would make my grandpa sign with her. She had a beautiful voice but grandpa well we better leave that one alone! I will never forget her and my Aunt Fay teaching me how to belly dance on a table when I was little. It would make me laugh. This lady gave me the love of German Shepard's. She worked at the police department in the 70's and worked with the dogs and fell in love with them. She had a dog named Stormy. He was a mean!! He hated everyone but me and grandma and grandpa. I would play ball with him any chance I got. Grandma always made me wear my seat belt and ride in the back seat (hated that). She always took my side and made me feel that I was number one in her book. This lady taught me to stand up for my self and not to take any thing off anyone! I could take on the world and she would back me up!! She was one of those kind of ladies that you NEVER wanted to make mad!! My cousin and I were laughing about her spanking us with the switch. I'm sure we deserved every bit of punishment. My Grandpa worshiped the ground she walked on and told her all the time how special she was to him. It is to bad that it takes someone to die to bring the family together for a visit. We used to have family reunions and what a party they were. We would dance, sing, drink, play cards, tell stories and eat good food. I will miss this lady more than words can say, but like I keep telling myself, I will see her on the other side and what a family reunion that will be.:) I would have loaded pics of my grandma but dont know how. Will work on that.

Ryan and his buddies

Sunday morning Bob, Brett and I got to bird hunt with Grandpa, Uncle Ryan, Uncle Travis, Travis's dad and Matt. I just followed along to take some pictures of this event. I love to watch the dogs work. Ryan's two labs are so well behaved and you could tell they loved hunting birds. The first place we went there was a covey of Quail and Ryan did get a shot at them. Only bumped up on pheasant but he took off "wild" bird language. The next place we went to the grass was as tall as me ( does not say much). Poor Travis was trying to teach his new pup Tanner all about the bird hunting thing. He just wanted to run a long with the other dogs and he did get a chance to do that later that morning. Bob and I left shortly after that to get our dogs out to do some hunting of their own. Thanks for letting me tag along boy's!

I was nice just to hang out and do nothing much. Next week back to work and then more time off! I love this time of the year. Bring on HUNTING season!!

Bob and I took a little walk to a place I call Rat Haven. I love to take the puppies there to hunt for mice and rats. I was a little muddy but the pups had a good time. We hit the jack pot today in an old dish washer. Raven got in the dish washer first and then Mute jumped in. I'm sooooo ready for hunting season to start! Bring on the FUR :)

Things I have been working on

Stocking caps,blankies and scarfs
My Afhgan now

My Afghan being born

Well I have been passing the time at night crocheting. I must say I really do enjoy it. I have a client that makes baby afghans and sends them to the children hospitals. I made 3 of them and I hope they keep little babies warm this winter. My afghan I started on a few months back has grown very large. It's 9 feet long and 5 foot wide. I have made the kids stocking caps (Brett's the only one that wears his). But the best of all my nephew wears his stocking cap all the time. That makes me smile and warms my heart! I'm working on some x-mas stuff (man it's time for that already) I would really like to learn how to make granny squares. I bought a set of looms and they are fun also. There are so many things you can make with the looms. I'm going to take a class on knitting. Will see if I like that as much as I like crocheting. Thanks Roberta for teaching an old dog a new trick!

Garrett, Mom and Matt

Today my mother-in law (mom) and Bob Sr. (dad) and Jeniffer,Garrett and Matt came to wish me a happy birthday. Mom made me a wonderful cake and birthday money! I got to spend some time Saturday with Garrett and Jeniffer at the Pumpkin Patch. I almost bought a purse but I could hear Bob in the back ground tell me that the basement was full of them and I really don't need another one. That's his opinion! Like my granny used to say you can never have to many panties or purses! Man I miss that lady:) Garrett and I ate popcorn and got to see a few friends from H-town that had a booth there. Garrett makes me laugh. What a special kid. Every time I see him I cant believe the changes he has made. When he came to my house today, he and I and mom were in the kitchen looking at yarn. I asked if he would like a stocking cap? Sure he said. I let him pick out the one he liked. It was made of wool and bright colors. He wore it the hole time he was here. Bob took everyone on a ride on the Razor except grandma & grandpa. We had cake and ice cream and Garrett make sure they sang me the birthday song (thanks Garrett, I needed that). My mom sent me a Kitchen Aid mixer (red) for my birthday. Now I can quit trying to win them on the Pioneer Woman. Bob and I made pancakes with it this morning. My birthday is not until Tuesday, but I must say today felt just like my birthday. Thanks ya'll for making me a part of your family!!! Oh, I almost forgot. I did get a camera from myself and Bob. :))))))
