Shorty Bulls

One of the dogs pulling

The New pup Anne

Had a great time this weekend. Bob and I went to Marysville to visit a friend that has the same hunting terriers we have. Jess got two pups from us. One last year and one about a month ago. When we got to Jess's house there was a dog there that I did not recognize. Holy cow, it was Lola the pup he got last year from us. She looked like a weight lifter!! I could not believe my eyes. She looked really good. I told Bob before we left NOT to let me get a pup (Jess has pups) and well this little cute thing came up to me and I melted! Yes, a little female patterdale Annie. I guess I could spend my money (she was free) on other things but these dogs make me tick!!! Jess wanted us to meet a lady that has Shorty Bulls. I must say I have never seen one before and they were not my kind of dog but they were cute. Jamie ( the bulldog lady) and I hit it off right from the get go. She loves dogs and I love dogs. Jamie told us that they were having a dog pulling contest to raise money for a guy that was hurt in a motor cycle accident. I was like a little kid in a candy store. Some thing NEW and some thing I have never seen. I was in. Bob looked at me like ok what ever makes you happy ( he gives me this look quite often). These dogs were incredible, they weighted any where from 30 lbs to 110 lbs. They could pull as much as 3 tons. That's a lot of weight. Wish I could have brought some of my dog's and put a little money in the pot! I really enjoyed my Saturday with Bob and all the dogs.

Very Nice Summer

So sorry for not posting! It has just been crazy. With Bob's eye and the new shop and no school for the kids, life has been crazy. We had a new litter a puppies a few months back. They are so much fun!! Ashley has worked all summer and gone to the lake to swim and hang out with boys. Dustin has rode his bike all over town and has been to the lake and pool to swim and check out the girls. Brett had swim team and did very well with it. He also has rode his bike all over and did lots of swimming at the lake and pool. I'm so ready for school to start (not much longer) Roberta has taught me to crochet and I'm really enjoying it. We have only got to ride out motor cycles a few times this year. Bob just does not see well enough to ride more. The good news is the cancer is shrinking and we hope his vision comes back!! We just had our 5 year anniversary and I look forward to lots more. Oh, I almost forgot I got to set lines with Ryan & Madelyn this summer and it was a BLAST!! Sorry about the net Ryan.

The green house

Well our life has been very busy in the last few weeks. Saturday we spent the day at the boy's wrestling tournament. Neither of them placed (next year). Sunday Bob helped my put my green house up. I just love it!! I planted lots of flowers and veggies. I lost count after 814 or so,hahah. I also decided to start a worm farm (don't laugh). Bob said he wanted to change my name to Loyd or Harry off of dumb and dumber (they had a worm farm to). The worms are good for fertilizing your plants. Will take some pictures and keep you up dated. The kids go on Spring Break next week. Ashley started a new job at the local supper market. No telling what Dustin will be up to. And Brett leaves on Friday to go to LasVegas. My cousin is coming from Texas to hang with the kids all week. Please continue to keep Bob in your prayers. He is a strong man and he and I both have a very good feeling, that every thing will turn out fine. Positive thoughts bring positive actions! I will leave you with that. Shell

10 year Anniversity

This will be the hardest post for me to write. I know this will help my journey on the healing process. I don't talk alot about my first born daughter Kacie the pain is over whelming. Kacie was born with Aicardi syndrome. She was missing the middle part of her brain. Had sever
seizures. She could not walk or talk and was tube fed. She had the most beautiful blue eyes and the prettiest sandy brown hair. Her smile would melt your heart. I knew from the time she was 2 months old that her life here on earth would be very limited. I tried to make her life as enriched and wonderful as I could. Kacie did have a purpose here on earth. She and I went to the State Capital to makes changes in health care reform for all children born like her. They seemed to just want to put kids like Kacie in a "home" so they (insurance company's) did not have to pay to provide good quality care.Well ,she and I rock their wall's. The Wall Street Journal sent a reporter to spend one day with our family to see how we provided care for Kacie at home. The article came out and our congress staff were over whelmed with calls. In 1997 a bill did pass for HMO'S to provide care at home for children that were profoundly handicap. I will never for that day!! I had fought for so long to keep her at home where she belonged. She did get to attend school where all the staff and kid's fell in love with her. They would fight over who got to push her in her wheel chair. We were blessed to have several nurses that helped take care of Kacie and did such a wonderful job. I still keep in touch with them. As time went on Kacie illness got worse. She had wonderful doctors that took excellent care of her and with out them I would not have got as many quality years as I did. She became very ill in November 1998 and the doctors told us that the time was close and there was nothing else they could do for her. From Nov to Feb I spent every waking hour with her and we read books and watched her favorite movies. On February 8th 1999 at 6:33 pm Kacie journey here on earth was over. She died in her bed surrounded by the people that she loved. I will never forget this day as long as I live. There is not a day that goes by that I don't think about her and wish that I could have just one more smile. I sure look at heaven alot different now. I know that some day we will meet again. On her head stone reads: She stole the hearts of everyone!

What's been going on?

The last month has just flown by, were does the time go? Ashley has been busy with basketball. She made varsity this year and is doing well. Dustin is staying out of trouble ( I probably just jinxed him) and is making good grades. We got him X-box live for his b-day and we hardly see him any more! Brett had poison ivy this week. He and one of his friends were playing around in the trees, lord only knows what they were cutting down. He and Dustin are going to start wrestling next week. It should be interesting around here in the next few weeks. Between Bob watching UFC (and wishing he was younger so he could do that) and the boy's thinking they are in the UFC. I'm staying out of it, will just watch and learn. Our hunting season is coming to the end. We lost one of our good dog's this year and it just wont be the same with out him. We were given a pup a few weeks ago from a friend. We named her noodles. She is the devil !!! She likes to sleep on Bob's neck. Looking forward to riding our bikes and FISHING !!! Shell

Well, it has been a month since we have posted. Lots going on. My mom came from Houston. We had a nice visit. We even got Bob to go to the mall (we did leave early, he and I had enough). My cousin came down with one of his friends. Bob and Nathan wrestled and Nathan squealed like a girl !! We also went to Bob's side for x-mas. Had a god time there also. They really make me laugh. The kids are enjoying being out of school. We have not seen much of Ashley. Dustin has been a house bum. And Brett has been building a fort at father Padilla park all week with his friends. Bob and I have spend our two weeks off, hunting the dogs, calling coyotes and running a trap line. Hate to go back to work next week. I was I was retired and could do this every day!!

Having a blast!!!!

Well our life has been so crazy with hunting season. Bob and I took a week off the middle of November to hunt the dogs and call coyotes. We have made a trip to Iowa to meet new friends.
